An Awareness campaign cum Kisan Gosthi on ‘Balanced use of fertilizers’ and ‘Region Specific Agroforestry’ was organised by inviting about 150 farmers and other stakeholders of ICAR-DGR adopted villages in the forenoon on 21-06-2022. All the scientists and technical personnel of the Institute also attended in this campaign. On this occasion Dr. CS Praharaj, Director, ICAR-DGR, Junagadh delivered a lecture on ‘Balanced use of fertilizers’ to sensitize the farmers about the need for judicious and balanced use of recommended doses of fertilizers including biofertilizers/biopesticides and other inputs for enhancing productivity of groundnut and other field crops and also to improve nutritional quality of the produce. Shri P. V. Zala, CTO of ICAR-DGR addressed the participants and highlighted the importance of ‘Region Specific Agroforestry’ for generation of additional farm income and also talked about the importance of neutralizing the impact of climate change. On this great occasion, tarpaulin sheets were also distributed to all the participating farmers registered under SCSP programme.  Later, tree plantation was also carried out in the evening at ICAR-DGR Campus, Junagadh and its regional centres at Anantapur and Bikaner.
