The sanctioned cadre strength inclusive of all categories of employees is 140. The category wise break up of these 140 positions is RMP- one, Scientific- 39, Technical- 40, Administrative- 15 and Supporting- 26. Depending upon season and area sown, the DGR engages varying number (50-100) of casual workers (unskilled, semi-skilled and skilled) on daily wages basis. The discipline wise and grade wise break up of positions in scientific category is given below. In the year 2009-10, there was some revision in the number of scientists approved in various disciplines. The discipline of computer application has now been withdrawn and three new disciplines viz., nematology, plant biotechnology and agricultural engineering have been added while keeping the over all scientific positions the same i.e. 39.
