ICAR-Directorate Groundnut Research (DGR), Junagadh celebrated World Bicycle Day on 3rd June 2022. The day aims to develop a culture of cycling for basic transportation, commutation, and strengthening physical and mental health. Dr CS Praharaj, Director, ICAR-DGR flagged off the bicycle rally at 4 p.m. today. The bicycle rally starts from DGR office building situated mid-way of the ICAR-DGR to end of DGR quarters located near to Ivnagar Road in Junagadh. All the DGR’s Staffs and their wards participated in this bicycle rally organized by ICAR-DGR, Junagadh.

The main objective of this very program is to encourage and motivate our own people to take up and adopt Cycling in their daily lives for continuing physical fitness activities in our day-to-day life, and get freedom from obesity, idleness, stress, anxiety, and illness. Adopting Cycling by all of us will also facilitate in reduction of carbon footprints, Dr Praharaj added.
