ICAR-DGR participated in Groundnut Network Group-Asia (GNG-A) Meeting held on 05 April 2022 at ICRISAT (Virtual cum off-line). The objectives of this international meeting included Groundnut Varietal needs and its industry opportunities in Iran, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia and India. The Meeting was chaired by Dr. Arvind Kumar, Deputy Director General–Research, ICRISAT. The dignitaries included heads of Agricultural Research industries in the above countries and some startup / industries in India.  Dr. C.S. Praharaj, Director, ICAR-DGR, Junagadh, India gave a presentation on Groundnut Varietal needs & its industry opportunities. DGR’s  Principal Scientist, Dr. S.K. Bera physically attended the meeting at Hyderabad and gave presentation on Genetic purity in high oleic seed production and also had visited the research fields at ICRISAT.

The Participants included Dr. Mehran Gholami, Deputy of Agriculture & Natural Resources Research and Education Centre, Guilan Povince, Iran, Dr. Priya Jayantha, GLORDC, Sri Lanka, Dr. M Manurul Kadir, BARI, Bangladesh, Dr. Sivingkhek Hpommalath,  NAFRAI, Laos, Dr. Maw Maw Naing, DAR, Myanmar, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thu, Director, LRDC-VAAS, Vietnam, Dr. Kim Eang Tho, Deputy Director, Cambodia, Dr. C.S. Praharaj, Director, ICAR-Directorate of Groundnut Research, Junagadh, India. The deliberations continued with presentation by the representatives of the above countries.

The meeting ended with vote of thanks by Dr. Patrick Okori, Director, RP-Accelerated Crop Improvement, ICRISAT, Hyderabad, India.
